You know what really grinds my gears?

Ok I have to do this whole blog without a profanity so here goes--

People who use the bathroom and don't wash their hands- I don't know how many times you turn on the television or read the newspaper and you aren't bombarded by news about this person dying of the H1N1 or swine flu...seriously, people are DYING from this. And they said one of the ways to help cut down on people catching these things is to wash your hands regularly--especially after using the bathroom. Now seriously, we learned from a very young age that after using the bathroom we're supposed to wash our hands. I mean for crying out loud, I was brought up in a third world country and even I was taught that, yet people who were born and bred in this country and are not adult the whole concept of washing their hands after using a bathroom, especially a public one, escapes them. I mean even if you weren't going to wash your hands and you see someone standing at the sink, take the thirty seconds and wash your hands. I do NOT want to catch anything so me holding a door knob after you is just going to piss me off.

People who missing the mark - - Ladies, seriously, because their is a drain on the floor is no excuse for you to miss the toilet. If you were a guy, I could understand you having bad aim but we don't have that problem! Thankfully! Cover the seat with one of those seat coverings, they are tacked to the wall right over the toilet. Then sit your ass down. Do you know how disgusting it is to walk into a toilet and see pee on the floor? And don't tell me it's water because water doesn't stink to high heaven. You are in university damn it! Act like it.

People who smoke right at the doors-- Knock knock, who's there? CANCER! Idiots, there are rules about where you smoke for a reason! Don't stand on either side of the damn doors of the entrance to a building puffing away. I have nothing against smokers, I just don't want to inhale second hand smoke. My parents don't smoke and I don't so I would really appreciate you using the designated smoking areas--and since when is it PC to designate an area for smoking? If you can't hold off until you get home to light up perhaps you should buy a damn bubble and just live there.

And now--It's time for my yearly OSAP/School Debacle

So, I started school on wednesday and already I had issues. So they make collecting your student loans MUCH easier by making students make appointments rather than joining some long as hell line. Better, ok, I give them that. Then I assumed that I had gotten enough loan to cover everything but my books and I'm cool with that. I could scrounge up and extra couple of hundreds to buy my books. So, with my appointment, I walked into the student loans office quite happy until I walked up to the front desk. The lady there told me that not only am I short, but I owe the school three hundred and sixty dollars and I should hurry and pay it before late charges are placed on my account. I was floored.

I know I suck at maths but holy shit I couldn't be off by THAT much--could I? So, a few days before I tried ordering a cesaer salad from pizza pizza with my school meal card and couldn't. I tried ordering the same thing from swiss Chalet but couldn't. They kept on telling me I had no money on my student card. Then I checked my account and it told me that I had no money on one section of my account but nine hundred on a second section and two hundred and change on a third. I was confused as hell because that third section shouldn't be there. So today I sent an email to food services asking them WTF?

They replied saying that because of the kind of meal plan I had, I had no Flex section (this is the section that I can use at some restaurants around my city). I was like "erm, that's not right." Walked my ass all the way over to the office today - I dont mind. I just use that walk for my daily fifteen minute walk - and asked what in the hell is going on. Turns out, they gave me the WRONG meal plan. They gave me the meal plan that cost twice as much as the one I need. I was PISSED OFF! I mean how dare they change what I signed up for? So not only did they give me the wrong meal plan, they charged me for the wrong meal plan, which added a little over two grand to my tuition fees, which caused all my student loan money to be signed over to the school which means I had no money left over for books! Can you believe that shit?

So now I am waiting for them to bloody fix their screw up and apparently it's going to take ten to fifteen business days for it to be fixed! I am so annoyed because it took less than that to completely fuck up my damn fees and meal plan and it's going to take that long to fix. I swear to god it's a good thing this is my last year or I would have transferred. *sigh* sometimes I wonder why we even bother with school. It's a whole bloody mess all the bloody time and there's very little we as students can do about it. But we need the education - they know that so they screw with us as much as humanly possible. They change things and say nothing about it. They move classes from where they are supposed to be to somewhere completely different and not say anything, they change books, add books, charge us for things that makes no sense to a logical person what-so-freaking-ever.


But on the bright side, I am taking this course that would have cost me a little over a hundred dollars for the book. Turns out, I don't need it! So that's a good thing, right. Anyways gonna go torture Deb now *giggles*

Classy Baseball

Hiya guys,
So it's 2009 and I know this is a tad late but happy new year! lol. I am in university....STILL...it's kicking my ass...STILL but you know what, I am happy I am in school right now with how bad the Economy is. There are NO jobs out there which sucks because I am getting ready to head home to go job hunting. I started but so far no luck. It sucks. So the United States has its first Black president - I say step in the right direction but this blog isn't about that. This Blog is about baseball!

So there is this thing called The World Baseball Classic - and this is when about 16 countries from around the world come together in the United States, Japan and Canada, and play each other for the bragging rights to say they are the best in the world. This is the first year I've actually paid attention but they used their major league players as well. So this year there was Venezuela, Japan, Korea, Canada, USA, Cuba, Austrailia, South Africa, Puerto Rico, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Russia, China, Taipei, Dominican Republic and Panama - they are trying to bring the world together with baseball. Great idea, great job. But the thing I don't get is this.

Why is it that the USA and Venezuelan teams act like such jerks? One of the Venezuelan players in practise, hit a ball out of Dodger's stadium then had the gall to call to the Korean team and tell them that there's more to come. Why would you do that? You see, I hate show-offs, I really do and if you are representing your county why in the hell do you do that? What's it gonna accomplish? The USA team acted like their shit dont stink and that they were better than the Asian teams and that gets my goat ALL the time. So you lost, big deal, you lost to a superb team - a team that has perfect pitching, hitting, catching, backing up each other, LOYALTY you JERKS!

The news is Korea lost to the USA but Korea wasn't kicked out of the WBC! oh no...see after Korea lost the USA - the USA team went on to play Japan.Karma is a bitch. I keep saying that and people keep ignoring me! USA went to play Japan, Japan beat them 10-2 and sent their asses home. Korea beat Venezuela and sent them home.

Now where the classy comes in Korea won their game against Venezuela and the beautiful thing about it is that the whole Korean team, lined up on the field, removed their hats and bowed to their fans! The American team would NEVER have done that - EVER!

The final game was between Korea and Japan and at the beginning, the two teams met on the field and exchanged hats, shook hands and bow! That is class! That is is CLASS! Every time these men get on the field, they have this smile on their faces. You can tell that they are so happy to be playing - so proud to be playing. These men you can tell that they WANT to be there and to be catching and throwing and pitching! Why don't you see that in the faces of the American/Canadian team members faces? Why don't they smile anymore? Or shake hands with their opponent? Is it the money? It couldnt be the money because some of the players from the Asian teams (Especially the Japan team) are also major league players but the Asian teams are just so happy to be playing the game. They genuinely LOVE the game....

All I'm saying is that Team Korea and Team Japan showed the world, that baseball can be fun, competitive and civil. Our western teams, need to learn from them. They need to watch these Asian teams and take a page fromt their books because if our teams can't get alone when competing against each other, they have a snowball's chance in hell of making it work when they have to work together against the world.

That's all I'm saying. Oh and Blue Jays, I hope you guys were paying attention to Japan's pitching - you don't dump your pitcher because he had a bad inning! PS...Japan beat Korea 5-3, So it goes, Japan in first, Korea in Second. (giggles) I bet the USA team would be PISSED because they got out pitched my a 21 year old! Its so saweet!
